Girlfriend's Care
COATS FOR KIDS NEEDED! One of My Favorite local charity Girlfriends Care and my gal/founder Gini Craig is asking for coats and other clothing items for kids in need. Here's the scoop....As winter and the holiday season are approaching, we're participating in a collection campaign to collect NEW JACKETS, SWEATSHIRTS, PAJAMAS AND UNDERWEAR for children who are taken into protective custody by a division of SD County Welfare Services, referred to as "Drug Endangered Children".
The drive is being coordinated by Cpl. Darbie Ernst of the Carlsbad Police Department plus some of our Girlfriends have family and friends who work there. SO, let's pitch in and see what kind of difference we can make to these children ages Newborn to 17 years who often come into the system with nothing to call their own.
WHAT: New jackets, sweatshirts, pajamas and underwear for sizes Newborn to 17 years.
WHEN: Beginning October 15 through October 30th! (I wanted to give you a jumpstart on shopping this weekend!)
WHERE: Either of the donation drop sites below or the Carlsbad Police Department at 2560 Orion Way, Carlsbad.
Julie's Front Porch
2363 Caddie Ct.
Oceanside, CA 92056
Ellen's Front Porch
3982 Foothill Ave
Carlsbad, 92008
ellen@girlfriendscare.org
Your "front porch" donations are tax-deductible through Girlfriends Care. If you want a receipt, please leave a self-addressed, stamped envelop and a receipt will be mailed to you for your donation.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month & Tax Free Retirement Planning
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Please make sure you have supplemental health insurance to cover cancer if cancer runs in your family. A few years ago I had 3/4 parents fighting cancer all at one time. It was a huge financial hardship for my parents. Please remember that your regular health insurance policy does not cover cancer treatments 100%
Do you need additional life insurance coverage and dream of having
the potential for some tax-free retirement income? Most people know that life insurance can help
provide financial security and continuity during one of life’s most difficult
times: the death of a loved one.
What few people know is that life insurance can also help
people meet their retirement goals and dreams by potentially allowing them to
access their policy’s cash value, using tax-free policy loans and withdrawals[1]
to supplement retirement income.
If you need additional life insurance and you’re thinking of
ways to fund your retirement, let’s set up a time to talk. Please Feel free to call or email me any time to schedule a complimentary meeting.
Have a great day and enjoy this beautiful fall weather we are having!

The use of cash value life insurance to provide a tax-free resource for
retirement assumes that there is first a need for the death benefit
protection. Policy loans and withdrawals
reduce the policy’s cash value and death benefit may result in a taxable
event. Withdrawals up to the basis paid
into the contract and loans thereafter will not create an immediate taxable
event. Withdrawals up to the basis paid
into the contract and loans thereafter will not create an immediate taxable
event, but substantial tax ramifications could result upon contract lapse or
surrender. Surrender charges may reduce
the policy’s cash value in early years.
